Tear-resistant: RIPSTOP nylon is a special fabric with a reinforced grid structure that prevents further tearing.
Lightweight and robust: The material is extremely lightweight, yet very resistant to mechanical stress.
Weatherproof: UV-resistant and saltwater-resistant for long durability in maritime use.
No sewing required: The trim threads are self-adhesive and can be installed without a sailmaker.
Easy application: Clean the area on the sail, peel off the protective film and stick on the trim thread.
Strong adhesion: The adhesive adheres reliably to sailcloth and holds even in strong winds.
7x red: Ideal for the port side or upper trim zones.
7x green: Perfect for the starboard side or lower trim zones.
Improved overview: The color coding allows for quick orientation and facilitates communication on board.
Complete set: 14 trim lines for complete headsail equipment.
Easy installation: Self-adhesive - no sewing required.
Durable: RIPSTOP nylon is tear-resistant and weatherproof.
Clearly visible: Red/green color coding for optimal readability.
Thoroughly clean the area on the sail with alcohol or acetone before applying the trim lines – this ensures optimal adhesion. After applying the trim lines, press them firmly into place and allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before hoisting the sail. The optimal application temperature is 15-25°C. Position the trim lines at the usual points (typically at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 of the headsail beam, as well as at various heights). The red/green combination is particularly useful for distinguishing different trim zones – for example, red for the upper and green for the lower zones, or red for port and green for starboard. Both colors are clearly visible on white sails. Once applied, the trim lines can be carefully removed later – any adhesive residue can be cleaned with alcohol.
The trim lines must be glued onto clean, dry sailcloth . Moisture, dirt, or salt will impair adhesion. The adhesive requires 24-72 hours to reach its full strength – do not hoist the sail during this time. Adhesion may be limited on very old or porous sailcloth. Regularly check the trim lines for a secure hold, especially after intensive sailing trips. Adhesive strength may be reduced at temperatures below 10°C (50°F). The trim lines are designed for headsails; special solutions are available for mainsails. Ripstop nylon is UV-resistant but may fade after years of intense sun exposure – this does not affect its function.
You will receive a complete set of trimming threads with 14 self-adhesive trimming threads made of ripstop nylon - 7 pieces in red and 7 pieces in green.
