Why use special shears for high-performance rope?

Modern high-performance fibers such as Dyneema®, Spectra®, Kevlar® and Technora® place special demands on cutting tools. These extremely tear-resistant materials can quickly dull conventional scissors or may even be impossible to cut cleanly in the first place.

The solution: D-SPLICER technology

Induction-hardened cutting edges: The specially hardened blades remain sharp for a long time, even with frequent cutting of high-performance fibers.

Micro-serration: The fine serration of the cutting edges grips even smooth, slippery fibers such as Dyneema and prevents slipping during cutting.

Precision machine grinding: Each pair of scissors is machine ground to guarantee perfectly matched cutting edges.

Application areas

  • Cutting Dyneema® and Spectra® rope
  • Aramid fibers such as Kevlar® and Technora®
  • High-performance sheets and halyards
  • Regatta sailing and yachting
  • Preparation for splicing work
  • Professional rope processing

Ergonomics and handling

Large handles: The generously sized handles allow for a secure grip and even distribution of force - important when cutting resistant high-performance fibers.

Fatigue-free work: Thanks to the optimal leverage and ergonomic design, you can make several cuts in succession without fatigue.

Controlled cuts: The precise guidance enables exact, clean cuts - essential for professional splicing work.

💡 Tip

Choose the scissor size to match your most common rope diameter. The D16 model with its fine tip is particularly suitable for precise work on thinner sheets (up to 8 mm). The D20 model with its long blades is ideal for standard sheets (10 mm) and offers a good balance between precision and power. The professional D26 model is the first choice for thicker ropes and intensive use. Important: Always cut heavy-duty fibers with a clean, quick cut – never saw! After cutting, you can seal the ends with a hot cutter or lighter to prevent fraying.

⚠️ Important

These scissors are specially designed for high-performance fibers . Do not use them on wire, metal, or other hard materials, as this will damage the cutting edges. After use, store the scissors in a dry and clean place. If they come into contact with salt water, rinse them with fresh water and dry them thoroughly. The micro-serrations are delicate; avoid dropping the scissors on hard surfaces. Do not attempt to sharpen the scissors yourself, as this will destroy the special micro-serrations.

Ideal for

  • Regatta sailors with Dyneema rigging
  • Professional riggers and riggers
  • Sailmakers and ropemakers
  • Yacht owners with high-performance ropes
  • Boat builders and shipyards
  • Everyone who works with modern high-performance fibers

High-performance fibers at a glance

Dyneema® / Spectra®: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMPE) - extremely tear-resistant with minimal weight and elongation.

Kevlar®: Aramid fiber with high strength and heat resistance, frequently used in drop cores.

Technora®: Aramid fiber with excellent abrasion resistance and durability.
