Blind rivets made of a nickel-copper alloy (mandrel made of galvanized steel) are particularly suitable for joining steel and aluminum, as the potential difference between the materials results in low current flow and good resistance to galvanic corrosion (better than stainless steel). The high-tensile alloy with a high yield strength (70% nickel and 30% copper – similar to Monel®) is easily cold-formed and resistant to seawater as well as a wide range of acids and alkalis.
