Battery switch with cover cap
Premium battery switch for 1 battery with integrated protective cap
The high-quality EK30040W battery switch combines functionality, safety, and durability in a compact housing. Specifically designed for marine applications, this switch offers a reliable solution for controlling and protecting your boat battery. The integrated cover effectively protects the locking mechanism from moisture, salt water, dust, and accidental activation.
With a continuous current rating of 75A and a peak current rating of 500A, this battery switch is ideal for most marine applications. Its robust construction using high-quality materials ensures a long service life, even under demanding conditions. The lockable mechanism prevents unauthorized use and provides added security for your vessel.
Technical highlights:
-
Universal voltage compatibility: 6-32V for flexible use in 12V and 24V electrical systems
High power reserves: Continuous load 75A at 12V, peak load up to 500A for trouble-free starting processes
Integrated protective cap: Weatherproof protection against moisture, salt water and mechanical damage
Lockable mechanism: Prevents unauthorized use and unintentional activation
Robust construction: Corrosion-resistant materials for marine environments
Compact dimensions: 58 mm base diameter for space-saving installation
Easy installation: Standardized connections for straightforward assembly.
-
Color coding: Black/red for unambiguous identification in the vehicle network
Areas of application:
This battery switch is ideal for sailboats, motorboats, yachts, motorhomes, commercial vehicles, and other mobile applications where reliable battery disconnection is required. It allows for the safe disconnection of the battery from the electrical system during extended periods of inactivity, thus preventing unwanted discharge due to parasitic drain.

Tips for installation and operation:
Choose a mounting location that is easily accessible but protected from direct weather.
-
Use adequately sized cables (at least 16 mm² cross-section for 75A continuous load)
Use appropriately sized cable lugs for secure and corrosion-free connections.
Check the contacts regularly (at least every six months) for tightness and signs of corrosion.
Switch off the battery if it will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage currents and deep discharge.
Always keep the cover closed when the switch is not in use.
Keep a spare key (part no. EK30041) in a safe but accessible place.
Clean the switch with a dry cloth if necessary – avoid harsh cleaning agents.
Important safety instructions:
-
Pay strict attention to the correct polarity: connect the positive terminal of the battery to the switch, and the negative terminal directly to ground.
Never exceed the maximum continuous load of 75A - this can lead to overheating and damage.
This switch is designed for 1 battery - for multi-battery systems you will need a changeover switch.
The installation should only be carried out by qualified specialists.
Before carrying out any maintenance or repair work, completely disconnect the battery from the vehicle's electrical system.
The switch is not designed as an emergency stop switch during operation.
Do not use the switch to interrupt high load currents during operation (e.g. winches, bow thrusters).
-
Keep the key out of the reach of children and unauthorized persons.
