One of the most important features of this lock is that it won't rattle when the engine is running. This is ensured by the plastic coating inside the lock sleeve.

The lock is made of specially formulated seawater-resistant stainless steel and comes with three keys. In the Netherlands, these locks are approved as suitable outboard motor security devices under the VbV SCM Goedgekeurd registration number MP 030912.
