Precise wind indicator: The trim threads show you the airflow on the sail at all times and enable optimal trimming.
Improved performance: By attaching trim lines to your sail, you can noticeably increase its sailing performance.
Simple and effective: This trimming aid is as simple as it is effective - ideal for beginners and professionals.
No sewing required: The trim threads are self-adhesive and can be installed without a sailmaker.
Quick application: Installed in no time at all - simply peel off the protective film and stick it on.
Strong adhesion: The adhesive adheres reliably to sailcloth and holds even in strong winds.
4x red: Ideal for the port side or upper trim zones.
4x green: Perfect for the starboard side or lower trim zones.
Improved overview: The color coding allows for quick orientation and facilitates communication on board.
Easy installation: Self-adhesive - installed in no time.
Effective trimming aid: Noticeably increases sail performance.
Color-coded: Red/Green for optimal overview.
Weatherproof: Durable and reliable in maritime use.
Thoroughly clean the area on the sail with alcohol or acetone before applying the trim lines – this ensures optimal adhesion. After applying the trim lines, press them firmly into place and allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before hoisting the sail. The optimal application temperature is 15-25°C. Position the trim lines at the usual points on the headsail (typically at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 of the headsail beam, as well as at various heights). The red/green combination is particularly useful for distinguishing different trim zones – for example, red for port, green for starboard, or red for the upper, green for the lower zones. Observe the trim lines while sailing: they should point horizontally aft. If they flutter upwards, the sail is too loose; if they point inwards, it is too tight.
The trim lines must be glued onto clean, dry sailcloth . Moisture, dirt, or salt will impair adhesion. The adhesive requires 24-72 hours to reach its full strength – do not hoist the sail during this time. Adhesion may be limited on very old or porous sailcloth. Regularly check the trim lines for a secure hold, especially after intensive sailing trips. Adhesive strength may be reduced at temperatures below 10°C (50°F). The trim lines are designed for headsails; special solutions are available for mainsails. The material is weather-resistant but may fade after years of intense sun exposure – this does not affect its function.
You will receive 8 self-adhesive sail trim threads - 4 pieces in red and 4 pieces in green.
The sail trim lines combine sophisticated design with easy handling - for reliable performance and optimal sail control in all weather conditions.
