Install the battery switch in an easily accessible location on the control panel so it can be operated at any time. Keep the key in a safe place and consider purchasing a spare key (EK30041). Ensure the cover is closed after each use to maintain splash protection. Always turn off the main switch when the boat will not be used for extended periods – this prevents battery drain and increases safety.
When installing, ensure correct polarity and use adequately sized cables (rated for at least 75A). The switch should be installed as close to the battery as possible. Tighten the connections securely to avoid contact resistance. Never switch off the main switch while the engine is running – this can damage the alternator and other electrical components. Ensure all electrical consumers are switched off before operating the main switch. Regularly check the function and condition of the switch and its cover.
